“Guidance for Guidance” Die Rolle der Schule Es ist nicht Aufgabe von Schule, alle Unterstützungen selbst anzubieten. Es ist jedoch Aufgabe von Schule, die Schüler/innen bei der Gestaltung ihrer Entscheidungsprozesse zu begleiten und zu beraten und über zur Verfügung stehende Unterstützungen zu informieren “Guidance for Guidance”

Das traditionelle 3-Ebenen Modell Berufsorientierungsunterricht in 7./8. Schulstufe: Spezielle Unterstützung zur Entwicklung der Berufswahlreife, Hilfe zur Klärung der eigenen Erwartungen an das Berufsleben, zum Erkennen der eigenen Interessen und Fähigkeiten. Blitzlichter aus Europa Denmark I With the 2007 amendments of the Act on guidance, it is now a requirement that guidance practitioners in the education system complete the diploma programme in educational and vocational guidance. This programme is offered by six university colleges. Alternatively, guidance practitioners with extensive experience in the field can apply for assessment and recognition of their competencies and prior learning. The Danish University of Education offers a master programme in guidance and counselling Both the diploma and the master programme are further training programmes that are offered within the framework of the Danish adult education and training system. I.e., they are aimed at and adapted to adults who already have another higher education degree and who have at least two years of relevant work experience.

Blitzlichter aus Europa Denmark II Diploma Programme for Guidance Practitioners Six university colleges across the country offer a diploma programme in educational and vocational guidance. It is equivalent to one year of full-time studies (60 ECTS points) but is usually taken as part-time studies over a couple of years The programme consists of three obligatory modules (9 ECTS points each): The last element of the programme is the final project work that is concluded by a written report (15 ECTS points).

Blitzlichter aus Europa Denmark III Master Programme in Guidance and Counselling The Danish University of Education offers a Master of Education programme in guidance and counselling. It is a qualifying further training programme available to guidance counsellors from all sectors. It is equivalent to one year of full-time studies (60 ECTS points) but is usually taken as part-time studies over a couple of years Entry requirements for the master’s programme are a completed relevant bachelor or candidatus (master) programme and at least 2 years of relevant working experience. The programme consists of four modules (15 ECTS points each): Module 1: Theory of guidance counselling Module 2: Guidance counselling and the society Module 3: The practice of guidance counselling Module 4: Master project.

Blitzlichter aus Europa Finland Counselors are made available in all Finish schools to guide and counsel students and pupils in their daily lives. Most of these counselors are trained teachers who have done an extra specialization of 60 credits in guiding and counseling. The guidance and counseling goals for the pupils are included in the national curriculum. A minimum of 2 hours a week is entitled to each pupil for guiding and counseling. Some of the of the universities and colleges offering guidance counselor training in Finland are: Joensuu Eastern Finland University, Jyvaskyla University, Jyvaskyla Universities of Applied Sciences and the vocational teacher education colleges of the HAMK. Both Jyvaskyla and Joensuu Eastern Finland universities requires one to complete a Masters degree in order to obtain the guidance counselor qualification. Acquiring 60 credits in the study of guiding and counseling also earns on a masters degree in Joensuu University.

Blitzlichter aus Europa Sweden Bachelor of Education in Career Counselling There is one main training course for counsellors in Sweden, a three-year university programme, leading to a Bachelors degree. The course of studies is comprised of 180 ECTS points. Supervision provided includes supporting individuals to explore, articulate and develop their interests and capabilities as well as their knowledge about themselves in relation to society, education, profession and working life. Master of Education in Career Counselling During the autumn of 2009 the Department of Education at the University of Stockholm, started a master's program in career guidance and counseling in cooperation with Malmö and Umeå University. The program, which runs over four semesters, gives career counsellors an opportunity to broaden and deepen their knowledge in the area of career guidance. The program is offered on a full-time basis with five physical meetings per year. Each meeting consists of two days.
