1 Living and working in Europe
Education in Europe                                                                          Our 4 liberties as an EU-citizen: In Germany the children regularly visit the  Elementary school untill 4th grade.  Then they visit the secondary  school either lower middle-, middle- school or gym- nasium. The pupils are 15-19 years old when finishing school. After that, they have the possibility making a training or to study if they have a higher school certificate ("Abitur"). Also after a completed training people in Ger- many have the possibility to study. Many students make the decision to go in foreign countries for 1-2 years, for example to improve their english language after they finished school. If they study, in the most courses it is also possible doing a semester abroad. 1) Free passenger transortatio: within the EU free travelling and living without a border control. 2) Free movements of goods: free import within the EU across borders 3) Free provision of services: for example package service in all EU countries. 4) Free capital movement: EU citizens have the choice where they want to bank their money. Since 2002: the Euro is the common currency in the EU-Zone. Zum Ändern dieser Broschüre ersetzen Sie den Beispielinhalt durch eigene Inhalte. 2 Compatibility Family and Career: Job Market and Promotion Prospects
Genders in Germany: In Germany there is equality. Women are doing the same jobs just like men. Unfortunatelly it is often so that women are paid less than men even if they do the same job. In Germany you can also see the women are emancipated. They go to work make a career and take care of their children at the same time. But of course you can find in some families the classic role acolation (the woman is at home with the children -->housewife, man is working. The woman has the right to decide how she wants to live her life and out her free-time as well. Compatibility Family and Career: Job Market and Promotion Prospects The actual situation on the job market develops as follows: about 70% of the  20 to 64 year old are gainfully employed, 12% of the 15 to 64 year old are done limited and 6% are without acitvity. There isn't the same minimum wage for all EU states. 6 of 28 EU states actually don't have legal minimum wage: Denmark, Finland, Italy, Austria, Sweden and Cyprus. The eastern EU countries have lower minimum wages less than 450 € gross in the month. The other member countries vary between 215 € (Bulgaria) and € (Luxembourg). Clearly under it lies for example Portugal (618 €) and Spain (764 €). According to studies the promotion prospects of the Germans are devisively determined by familiar backgrounds. This positions itself contrary in comparison to the Scandinavians who are persuaded of the fact that ambition and engagement is worthwhile, can promote in life and help to rise. Less presure of the parental home and educational duties of the state assumed distinguish themselves here.  Source: Spiegel, FAZ * Adults, at an workable age look beside occupation and career after life in the family and care about the children. * German families try to find a balance between these two areas of life so that neither the profession or the family come to short or be disadvantages * Work – Life Balance: In relation to operational aspects are used here for example family-friendly working hours, which will be accepted by the employer. An example for that is to work only half-day.
