Jede Führungskraft steht einer endlosen Kette an Anforderungen an spezifischen Informationen gegenüber. Such demands consume a large percentage of the desk time of the executive unless the desk itself is made a tool for supplying the answers quickly. Solche Anforderungen verbrauchen einen großen Prozentsatz der Arbeitszeit der Führungskraft – außer der Arbeitsplatz ist zu einem Werkzeug gemacht, das diese Antworten schnell liefert. His desk is merely the center of a highly specialized finding system. Der Arbeitsplatz ist (bloß) ein hochspezialisiertes Suchsystem.

Unflexibel Oftmals bedeuten Änderungen im BI ein Projekt an die IT-Abteilung. Bereichsgetrieben Jeder sieht immer nur seinen Fachbereich – das große Bild fehlt in den verteilten Bereichs-BI-Lösungen. Nur 20% der IW nutzen BI Kostenintensiv Alleine aus Kostengründen sind viele Tools nur für die Poweruser einsetzbar. Der Rest der Mitarbeiter ist aus dem BI ausgeschlossen.
