Während dieser Zeit entwickelt er sein Anthropologisches Interesse und heiratet Edith Turner (2 Kinder) 1946 Rückkehr an die University College London, Jetzt eingeschrieben für Anthropologie, für Fortbildung nach Manchester gewechselt zwischen 1950 und Feldforschungen unter den Ndembu im heutigen Sambia (Rhodes-Livingston-Institute) 1955 Promotion 1961 Fellow of the Center for Advanced Behavioral Sciences at Stanford University. 1964 Wechsel an die Cornell University, Feldforschung bei den Gisu in Uganda 1968 Professor of Anthropology and Social Thought in Chicago 1978 William R.
