Gute Nacht in Berlin Schulklassen, Sprachschüler oder Touristen, die Berlin kennen lernen möchten, sollten sich vor ihrer Reise um eine Unterkunft kümmern. Im Sommer sind Pensionen und Jugendherbergen meist ausgebucht. Wer nicht auf einem der acht Campingplätze am Strand schlafen möchte, findet über vielleicht ein preisgünstiges Bett. Rosa (17) aus Chemnitz schreibt: Die Jugendherberge,,Berlin International’’ ist für Gruppen äußerst gut geeignet. Wer besondere Wünsche hat, wie zum Beispiel vegetarisches Essen oder antiallergische Bettwäsche, findet sich hier zurecht. Schade aber, dass der Internetanschluss nicht funktionieren wollte. Die zentrale Lage in der Nähe vom Fernsehturm ist auch sehr praktisch. Im Sommer kann man sich in den Garten setzen, obwohl das leider auch eine beliebte Raucherecke ist.

Key vocabulary and ideas from the text: Unterkunft means accommodation so covers youth hostels, hotels, campsites etc Sollten means you should do something Vor is before; vor ihrer Reise – before their journey Reise – journey; reisen – to travel; der/die Reisende – passenger/ traveller Preisgünstig is another word for cheap, like billig/ nicht teuer/ preiswert Wer means who/ whoever äußerst means extremely; äußerst gut geeignet means extremely well suitable Schade means a pity; this word is used a lot and when you see it you know the next thing will be a negative or a disappointment Obwohl means although and when you see this you know what comes next will negate what went before (it links a positive with a negative) Leider means unfortunately – so a negative will follow. Leider is used a lot.
