8 Combining a statement with giving a reason:
Ich bin Nichtraucher. / Ich rauche nicht. (I am a non-smoker / I don’t smoke) (statement) Es riecht ekelhaft! (reason) (I smells disgusting) Ich bin Raucher. / Ich rauche. (I am a smoker / I smoke) (statement) In meiner Clique rauchen alle! (reason) (In my gang everyone smokes)

9 Let’s have a look at how to make 1 sentence out of 2!
Ich rauche nicht. Es riecht ekelhaft Ich rauche nicht, weil es ekelhaft riecht (because)

10 What happened there? The conjunction ‘weil’ smells so ‘VILE’ that the verb (riecht) runs a mile!!!! In other words: when you use ‘weil’, the VERB has to go to the END of the SENTENCE!

11 Making a statement with a contrasting point of view
Ich bin Raucher. (I am a smoker) Es schmeckt nicht gut! (It doesn’t taste nice) Ich bin Nichtraucher. (I am a non-smoker) In meiner Clique rauchen alle! (In my gang everyone smokes)

12 Let’s have a look at how to make 1 sentence out of 2!
Ich bin Raucher Es schmeckt nicht gut Ich bin Raucher obwohl es nicht gut schmeckt (although)

13 What happened there? The conjunction ‘obwohl’ behaves just like the conjunction ‘weil’ - the conjugated verb (schmeckt) runs to the END of the SENTENCE!!!!!!!
