Are Standards able to enter the Knowledge Base? Why do we need Standards in the Knowledge Base? Growing importance of standardization, because (de Vries, 1999, S. 3 f.): Companies are not even longer isolated Outsourcing, especially of ICT‘s Knowledge Base? Standards development does not happen in an equal process Standard Organization vs. Standard Consortia Classification of Standards de jure, de facto, voluntary consensus Different Meanings Standardization, Standardization development, Standardization Process, Standard setting (1) Every Standard based on his own Development Process Die Frage die Weiterhin bestehen bleibt ist: Kann ein Standard im Sinne der Design Science entwickelt werden. Das heißt, sind die Regeln nach Hevner auch für die Entwicklung eines Standards anwendbar. Letztlich ist der Standard in seiner Entwicklung nur ein Konstrukt oder ein Artefakt. Aber wenn wir an dejure, defacto oder andere Formen (sponsored, unsponsored) von Standards denken, sind diese in ihrem Entstehungsprozess nicht gleich. Geht man von einer wissenschaftlichen Strenge aus die Im DSFr durch „Rigor“ gegeben ist so ist es erforderlich diese Untersuchung aus wissenschaftstheoretischen Ansichten zuführen. Die folgenden Ausführungen sollen die Fragen beantworten inwieweit die Entwicklung eines Standards mit dem DSRFr vereinbar sind und ob es aus wissenschaftlicher Sicht möglich wäre eine Standard im Sinne der DS zu entwickeln.
