2 History of the G1 The G1 was founded in 1920. The school consists of two neighbouring building complexes which have been two separate schools until 2004. Those have been: The G14 Staatliche Gewerbeschule Stahl- und Metallbau providing vocational training for metal crafts and the G1 Staatliche Gewerbeschule Maschinenbau focussing on the Training for industrial metal jobs. Both are now firming as G1.
