2 Today we are learning to talk about work experience we have done, giving facts, details and opinions The bigger picture: We are working towards a controlled speaking assessment on a job interview You must aim to get one grade higher than your target grade in the Speaking assessment – so lots of As and Bs!!! You can do it!! Success Criteria: You will be able to describe a real or imaginary work experience and link it to other information you might be asked in a job interview

15 Work with small cards.Work in pairs. 1.Work with the small set. Use sentence structure: Ich habe in einem Hotel Arbeitspraktikum gemacht. 2. Now use the other set. Use the sentence structure: Ich musste die Betten machen. The answer is on the back of course. 3. Add an opinion. Das war langweilig. 4. Link a place card to 2 or 3 activities eg Ich habe mein Arbeitspraktikum in einem Hotel gemacht. Dort musste ich die Betten machen und die Zimmer putzen. Das war OK. Speaking 5. Add more information eg when you did WEX, how long for.

16 Now work with dice on the speaking grid. The sentences you produce must include information which is on the two squares you land on. Sometimes one sentence may be enough to include both pieces of information. Often you will need a couple of sentences. Always include extra information. 17 Work with a partner on a job interview. If you are asking the questions, you must choose and prepare questions which will give you the information you need to find. If you are answering the questions, prepare to anticipate and understand the questions. When asking the questions, you can use the questions provided. When answering, try not to use the vocab sheets, but you can of course refer to them if you need to. Swap over, and take the other role. Then do the interviews again and try not to use your notes when Answering.

18 WRITING Write out the questions and answers on the work experience part of the interview in your books. Reading Read the two short accounts of work experience. Find the information required in the text. Then add extra information or opinions to your answers above.
