5 Position of adverbs As you probably know already, adverbs love verbs and always stay very close to them.

7 Have you noticed anything…? Sentence 2 started with the adverb Um 7 Uhr In sentence 2 the subject der Wecker and the verb klingelt swapped places

8 But why…..? This is because the VERB is always the 2 nd idea in a sentence. An idea can be a word like Abends or a few words like Um 7 Uhr or even a whole clause like Wenn ich Zeit habe (when I have time)

9 Now try and rewrite the second sentence starting with the adverb um 7 Uhr 5 1234 4 Ichsteheum 7 Uhr 5auf 123 Um 7 Uhr 5steheichauf
