4 Zonta International Zonta International ist eine weltweite, überparteiliche, überkonfessionelle und weltanschaulich neutrale Service- Organisation, in der sich berufstätige Frauen zusammengeschlossen haben

5 Zonta International Zonta engagiert sich weltweit für die Verbesserung der Stellung der Frau in rechtlicher, politischer und wirtschaftlicher Hinsicht Tritt weltweit für die Rechte von Frauen ein Engagiert sich lokal, national und international in Service-Projekten für benachteiligte Frauen sowie in der Förderung begabter Frauen.

Klausman Women in Business Scholarship Fund $ Young Women in Public Affairs Award Fund $ Rose Fund $ These goals represent the fundraising goals of the Zonta International Foundation, the philanthropic arm of Zonta International. Clubs are asked to contribute 1/3 of their total fundraising efforts to the Foundation. The Rose Fund is the general operating fund of the Foundation. The remaining funds are for the ZI International Service Programs discussed on the next slide.

15 Preise und Stipendien Das Amelia Earhart Fellowship ist ein Stipendium für Wissenschaftlerinnen im Bereich Luft- und Raumfahrt. Seit wurden bisher 1368 Amelia Earhart Fellowships im Wert von insgesamt $ 8 Mio. an Frauen in 68 Ländern der Welt vergeben. Das Jane M. Klausman Women in Business Stipendium unterstützt begabte Frauen, die Wirtschaftswissenschaften studieren. Mit dem "Young Women in Public Affairs Award" werden Oberstufen-Schülerinnen ausgezeichnet, die sich über- durchschnittlich in der Schule, in Vereinen oder Organisationen engagiert haben. Zonta International offers various opportunities for fellowships, awards and scholarships. You can find more information at -AE Fellowships support graduate study by women in aerospace-related sciences and engineering. Since 1938, Zonta has awarded 1,333 fellowships totaling more than US$8 million to women representing 68 countries. -JMK Women in Business Scholarships encourage women preparing for careers in and leadership positions in business. Since 1998, 275 scholarships have been provided to women in 42 countries. -YWPA Awards recognize young women committed to leadership in public policy, government and volunteer organizations. Since 1990, 637 awards have been made to young women in 50 countries. -Emma L. Conlon Service Award for Z and Golden Z Clubs whose projects and programs best express the ideals of Zonta International

21 Zonta Struktur At the ZI Convention, the election of the ZI Board and Nominating Committee takes place; biennial goals are also adopted. The ZI Board is elected by Convention delegates to serve a 2 year term. The ZI Committees are appointed by the ZI President with the approval of the ZI Board. The ZIF Committees are appointed by the Foundation President with approval of the ZIF Board. ZI Staff implement Board decisions and provide member support. The District-Area-Club structure also represents the chain of communication if a member is seeking help from Zonta leadership. Zontians’ first resource is their club president. If further help is needed, members can also seek guidance from their area director and then governor or district-level committee members. NOTE: you may want to say something here about your club’s District-Area-Club specifics; however, there is a slide that accounts for this information in a later section of this presentation that relates specifically to your club.

Abteilungen: Exekutiv Finanzen und Personal Mitgliedschaft Programme Entwicklung Kommunikation Located in Oak Brook, IL, a suburb of Chicago, Zonta International Headquarters houses the administrative, financial and program activities of Zonta International and the Zonta International Foundation. Conference space in the office is used for committee and board meetings of both organizations. Zontians are welcome to contact Headquarters if they are in the Chicago area and would like to schedule a tour of the building.

Der erste deutsche Zonta Club wurde 1931 in Hamburg gegründet. Über 132 Clubs mit ca Mitgliedern bilden die Union Deutscher Zonta Clubs, UdZC. Sie wurde gegründet und ist nicht Teil der internationalen Hierarchie.

Nationale Kommunikations-Plattform der deutschen Zonta Clubs. Im Deutschen Frauenrat und in vielen Landesfrauenräten vertreten. Vergibt jährliche Förderpreise wie z. B. den Zonta-Musikpreis, Auszeichnungen bei „Jugend musiziert“ und „Jugend forscht“ und engagiert sich bei femtec.
