Konjugier,,sein”! ichwir du ihr er, sie, essie, Sie

The Perfect Tense (Conversational Past Tense) The perfect tense is formed by using haben or sein plus a past participle.

The haben or sein is used in the regular verb position and is conjugated.

Haben is used for transitive verbs (ones that can take a direct object).

Sein is used with intransitive verbs (ones that don’t take a direct object.)

The past participle goes at the end of the sentence or clause. It is already in the correct form as a past participle.

Ich habe gestern spät gearbeitet. Mein Mann hat am Samstag geangelt. Wir haben viel in Deutsch eins gelernt. Mary Lee ist im Cape Fear Fluß geschwommen. Ihr habt heute warme Jacken getragen.

Strong verbs can be found on a chart in the dictionary, the one that I made for you or in a textbook, but you will end up memorizing the more common past participles of the strong verbs.

Weak Verbs Weak verb past participles are formed by adding ge- to the stem and changing the verb ending (usually –en) to a –t. z.B.spielen ge + spiel + t = gespielt
