soldiers thought they were taken home, but they were taken to the east front propaganda against English people undernourishment with adults and children total war: civilians and military personnel tried to survive THEME OF THE FILM

The picture shows soldiers on a train. They thought they were going to their homes but they were taken to the eastern front line. They were hurt and hungry. Some of them met old friends.

-Commonwealth members are undesirable in Germany -each 8th soldier is in captivity but armies can´t supply them with food -despoliation of occupied territories -children must bring food, iron and metal to school -collect steel sheet and low carbon steel for cannonballs - civilians have to work in arms industry -it’s also in their home GENERAL SITUATION IN 1917

For the first time women had to work to care for the family because men were in the war. They were very worried about their husbands There was also hunger and sickness. The women worked in factories and on the fields. FAMILY-SITUATION DURING THE WAR
