Cadherin & Zelladhäsion
Figure Adhesion molecules in junctions involved in cell-cell adhesion. Adherens junctions and desmosomes are specialized cell-cell junctions that consist of clustered-cadherin dimers. Cadherin is connected to either the circumferential belt of actin filaments or bundles of keratin filaments in the cytoskeleton through the catenin adapter proteins.

Komponenten z. B: gefunden: Drosophila Segmentpolarität, Xenopus Achsendetermination Tumorforschung (Zellkulturmodelle, Dickdarmkrebs)

Wg(WNT)induzierte Signaltransduktion
(vereinfachtes Schema) wird degradiert Figure The Wingless (Wg) signaling pathway. In the absence of Wg (or Wnt in vertebrates), the kinase GSK3 constitutively phosphorylates b-catenin. Phosphorylated b-catenin is degraded and, hence, does not accumulate in cells. Binding of Wg to its receptor Frizzled recruits Dishevelled to the membrane. Dishevelled, in turn, inhibits GSK3. As a result, unphosphorylated b-catenin accumulates in the cytosol, translocates to the nucleus, binds via its C-terminus to the transcription factor TCF, and activates transcription of target genes. [Adapted from T. C. Dale, 1998, Biochem. J. 329:209.]
