Open Architecture and Spatial Data Infrastructure for Risk Management ORCHESTRA Project start: September 2004 Duration: 36 months Budget: 13.75 M€ Funding 8.2 M€ Contract type: FP6 Integrated Project Open Architecture and Spatial Data Infrastructure for Risk Management
Risk Management Cycle
ORCHESTRA Konsortium
The ORCHESTRA Goals in a Nutshell To overcome key obstacles preventing integrated approaches, e.g. Lack of a common terminology Lack of interoperability, accessibility and availability of data, information and software Lack of involvement of stakeholders To provide a well understood and agreed service infrastructure, in order to make integration much cheaper than it is today, thus enabling end users and their organisations to work on the real problems (environmental management, decision support, data quality, ...).
ORCHESTRA Objectives To design an open service-oriented architecture for risk management, with special attention of the integration of spatial and non-spatial data and services. To serve as an INSPIRE pilot project and thus assist and support the development of INSPIRE technical specifications and guidelines. To develop the software infrastructure for enabling risk management services To develop services that are useful for various multi-risk management applications based on the architecture To validate the ORCHESTRA results in a multi-risk scenario To provide software standards for risk management applications.
