27
DNA polymerase — an enzyme that synthesises DNA using nucleotide phosphate (dNTP) according to the single stranded DNA template. PPi (inorganic phosphate) is formed as a by- product.
28
ATP sulfurylase — an enzyme that forms ATP from adenosine phosphosulfate (APS) and pyrophosphate (PPi). Luciferase — an enzyme that catalyzes the conversion of luciferin to oxyluciferin with the liberation of light. It requires ATP. Apyrase – an enzyme that destroys NTPs: catalyses e.g. the hydrolysis of ATP to yield AMP and inorganic phosphate Pi.

Key substrate: not used by DNA polymerase Adenosine-5´-phosphosulphate (APS), substrate for ATP sulfurylase: PPi + APS + ATP sulfurylase → ATP + by-product APS
32
dATP ?
33
Key substrate: Deoxyadenosine alpha-thiotriphosphate (= dATPαS): accepted by DNA polymarese as ATP but not by luciferase.
