Plural Forms of Nouns For singular nouns, you must know the gender; that is, you must know whether the noun is a der-, die- or das-word. You will have to learn these, of course.

Plural Forms of Nouns In the plural, however, all nouns take the article die in the nominative and accusative, regardless of their gender.

Plural Forms of Nouns When you look up nouns at the end of each chapter and in the vocabulary section at the back of this textbook, you will notice that each noun is followed by a comma and an indication of its plural form.
