Self-Correcting German Writing Check the requirements: – Is it long enough? Is it double-spaced? – Are there enough quotes? (Did you translate them?) – Are the appropriate verbs in the Präteritum? – Have you rendered any English Terminology into German where appropriate? – Did you look up the words for important aspects of the game in German?

Self-Correcting German Writing Check your grammar: – Verbs – Is there a clear subject and verb for each sentence? Do they match in person and number? – Nouns/Articles – Do nouns have the correct articles for their position in the sentence? – Word Order – Did you double check the word order of challenging sentences? – Expressions – Are there any English expressions that you werent sure about turning into German?

Start with the First Paragraph 1. Underline the verbs. Underline the subjects. – Do they match in person and number? – Do the subjects have their proper articles? If they are pronouns, are they correct? 2. Circle all nouns. – Are they capitalized? – Are they spelled correctly? – Are they declined correctly? 3. Expressions: Box any expressions or clauses you arent sure about. – What are you trying to say? Can you simplify it? Can you split it into multiple sentences? 4. Check the use of words you just looked up. – Are there any idiomatic expressions to be worried about? 5. Are words in the right order? – Check any subordinate clauses. – Check any sentences beginning with a word other than the subject. – Check any sentence that is in a different tense than the Präteritum.

Start with the First Paragraph 1. Underline the verbs. Underline the subjects. 2. Circle nouns. 3. Expressions: Box any expressions or clauses you arent sure about. 4. Look up use of words. 5. Order? 1. Underline the verbs. Underline the subjects. 2. Circle nouns. 3. Expressions: Box any expressions or clauses you arent sure about. 4. Look up use of words. 5. Order?
