Satzstruktur – Sentence structure You can switch around information in sentences that contain more than one piece of information. The rule is: The conjugated verb form always remains in the second position of the sentence, after one piece of information. The emphasis in a sentence lies on the first bit of information mentioned within it.

Die Kreide ist weiß. Weiß ist die Kreide. Der Mann wohnt in Deutschland. In Deutschland wohnt der Mann. Ich bin müde. Müde bin ich. Die Leute sprechen hier Deutsch. Hier sprechen die Leute Deutsch. Deutsch sprechen die Leute hier.
