Practice of the Present Perfect Tense and the Imperfect Tense using MODAL VERBS

Rewrite the Present Perfect sentences into the Imperfect Tense Beispiel: Ich habe mit den Kindern gespielt. (durfte) Ich durfte mit den Kindern spielen. Ich habe am Computer gearbeitet. (konnte) Ich habe Telefonanrufe entgegen genommen. (musste) Ich habe den Kunden geholfen. (sollte)

Beispiel: Ich habe mit den Kindern gespielt. (durfte) Ich durfte mit den Kindern spielen. Ich habe am Computer gearbeitet. (konnte) Ich konnte am Computer arbeiten. Ich habe Telefonanrufe entgegen genommen. (musste) Ich musste Telefonanrufe entgegen nehmen. Ich habe den Kunden geholfen. (sollte) Ich sollte den Kunden helfen.

Now translate the sentencesAchtung – you have to think in both tenses!

I answered the telephone and I had to send s. I wanted to work at reception but I had to make the beds. I could research in the Internet and I wrote articles. I filed documents and I had to make coffee. I had to fetch the trolleys and I stacked the shelves. I could do interviews with people but I also had to photocopy papers.

Ich habe Telefonanrufe entgegen genommen und ich musste s schicken. Ich wollte am Empfang arbeiten aber ich musste die Betten machen. Ich konnte im Internet recherchieren und ich habe Artikel geschrieben. Ich habe Dokumente abgelegt und ich habe Kaffee gemacht. Ich musste die Einkaufswagen holen und ich habe die Regale aufgefüllt. Ich konnte mit Leuten Interviews machen aber ich musste auch Papiere fotokopieren.
