You find the bodies within your model that meet the thin component criteria, then you simplify the geometry to generate midsurfaces or offsets, and perform the analysis. (sheet metal – plastic parts) Then, use Midsurface and Offset commands to simplify the model geometry. Midsurface inspects the selected bodies and automatically builds a median surface based on the geometry. Shell features are considered in the analysis for such surface. Offset creates a shell feature from selected faces. Specify the thickness, and distance is calculated as thickness/2. You can perform an automatic face chain selection.
