Production of electricity in Finland By Germany-Group
Many different types of electricity production in Finland. About 40-45% of electricity in Finland is produced in Finland. Most of main production types in Finland are not renewable, but renewable energy is used more year by year (30-36% from produced electricity). About 1/3 of electricity production stations, the electricity and heat are both produced in same station. So any energy won’t get wasted.
4 most used production types Nuclearpower 34% The most used energy production type in Finland. 4 nuclear power stations in use (all in southern Finland). Together the stations produce electric energy about 22,3 TWh. Finnish reactors have been trouble-free and safe. Hydropower 19% The most important renewable resource in Finland. There are over 220 hydroelectric power- plants. Good operability and dependbility.
4 most used production types Wood fuels 17% Finland is the leading country in the world with benefiting from wood energy. Most of the wood fuels are bark and sawdust. Renewable resource. Greenhouse effect neutral. Small mote releases. Coal 15% The most used fuel in electricity production. With the modern technology the coal reserves are estimated to suffice for 200 years. Coal is composed of carbon along with other elements, chiefly hydrogen, sulfut, oxygen and nitrogen.
