AM hours are normal like ours (1 AM-11 AM) PM hours go from 13 (1 PM) until 24 (midnight/12 AM) Wie viel Uhr ist es? OR Wie spät ist es? What time is it? Germans say hour first then minutes Es ist Zehn Uhr Elf Es ist 14 Uhr 48 Germans say they are halfway to the next hour Es ist halb Neun (Halfway to 9= 8:30) Viertel means quarter (15 minutes) Viertel nach (Quarter after) Viertel vor (Quarter before) They use a period instead of a colon , 23.45, 5.04 Die Mitternacht= midnight Der Mittag= noon Um= at Um Elf Uhr At 11 am Um Viertel nach dreizehn At 13.15
