4 Hallo. Ich heiße Anna. Ich bin Nichtraucherin und ich habe noch nie Zigaretten probiert. (tried) Mein Freund Max ist Raucher. Wir streiten uns oft über das Rauchen!

5 Hi. Ich bin der Max. Ich bin seit 5 Jahren Raucher. Meistens rauche ich so gegen 10-15 Zigaretten pro Tag. Meine Freundin Anna kann das Gequalme nicht leiden! My friend Anna cant stand the puffing!

9 Combining a statement with giving a reason: Ich bin Nichtraucher. / Ich rauche nicht. (I am a non-smoker / I dont smoke) (statement) Es riecht ekelhaft! 11 What happened there? The conjunction weil smells so VILE that the verb (riecht) runs a mile!!!! In other words: when you use weil, the VERB has to go to the END of the SENTENCE !

12 Making a statement with a contrasting point of view Ich bin Raucher. (I am a smoker) Es schmeckt nicht gut! (It doesnt taste nice) Ich bin Nichtraucher. (I am a non-smoker) In meiner Clique rauchen alle! (In my gang everyone smokes)

14 What happened there? The conjunction obwohl behaves just like the conjunction weil - the conjugated verb (schmeckt) runs to the END of the SENTENCE!!!!!!!
