1 A Butterfly’s Lesson ”One day, a small opening appeared in a cocoon; a man sat and watched for the butterfly for several hours as it struggled to force its body through that little hole. Eines Tages entstand in einem kleinen Kokon eine Öffnung; Ein Mann sass da mehrere Stunden und beobachtete, wie der Schmetterling sich anstrengte, seinen Körper durch das kleine Loch zu zwängen

2 Then, it seems to stop making any progress. It appeared as if it had gotten as far as it could and it could not go any further. Dann war kein Fortschritt mehr zu beobachten. Es schien, als wäre der Schmetterling so weit gekommen wie möglich und als ginge es nicht weiter

3 So the man decided to help the butterfly: he took a pair of scissors and opened the cocoon. The butterfly then emerged easily. But it had a withered body, it was tiny and shriveled wings. Deshalb entschied sich der Mann, dem Schmetterling zu helfen. Er nahm eine Schere und öffnete den Kokon. Der Schmetterling kam leicht heraus. Aber er hatte einen schrumpeligen Körper, er war winzig und hatte verkümmerte Flügel

4 The man continued to watch because he expected that, at any moment, the wings would open, enlarge and expand, to be able to support the butterfly’s body, and become firm. Der Man beobachtete ihn weiter weil er erwartete, dass sich die Flügel jeden Augenblick öffnen und entfalten würden, sodass sie in der Lage wären, den Körper des Schmetterlings zu stützen und selber stark zu werden.

5 Neither happened! In fact, the butterfly spent the rest of its life crawling around with a withered body and shriveled wings. It never was able to fly. Nichts geschah! Tatsächlich verbrachte der Schmetterling den Rest seines Lebens umherkriechend mit einem schrumpeligen Körper und verkümmerten Flügeln. Er konnte nie fliegen

6 What the man, in his kindness and his goodwill did not understand was that the restricting cocoon and the struggle required for the butterfly to get through the tiny opening, were God’s way of forcing fluid from the body of the butterfly into its wings, so that it would be ready for flight once it achieved its freedom from the cocoon. Was der Mann in seiner Güte und seinem Wohlwollen nicht verstanden hatte war, dass der enge Kokon und die notwendige Anstrengung, durch die winzige Öffnung zu kommen Gottes Weg war, Flüssigkeit aus dem Körper in die Flügel zu pressen, sodass er fliegen konnte, sobald er sich vom Kokon befreit hatte.

7 Sometimes, struggles are exactly what we need in our life. If God allowed us to go through our life without any obstacles, it would cripple us. We would not be as strong as we could have been. Never been able to fly. Oft sind Schwierigkeiten genau das, was wir in unserem Leben brauchen. Wenn wir ohne Hindernisse durch unser Leben gehen könnten würden wir verkümmern. Wir wären nie so stark wie wir hätten sein können, wären nie in der Lage zu fliegen.

8 I asked for Strength... and God gave me difficulties to make me strong. I asked for Wisdom... and God gave me problems to solve. I asked for prosperity... and God gave me a brain and brawn to work. Ich bat um Stärke.... Und er gab mir Schwierigkeiten um mich stark zu machen. Ich bat um Weisheit..... Und er gab mir Probleme sie zu lösen. Ich bat um Wohlstand... Und er gab mir Verstand und Muskeln um sie zu benutzen.

9 I asked for Courage….. and God gave me obstacles to overcome. I asked for Love... and God gave me troubled people to help. Ich bat um Mut... Und er gab mir Hindernisse die zu überwinden. Ich bat um Liebe... Und er gab mir hilfebedürftige Menschen.

10 I asked for Favors... And God gave me Opportunities. “I received nothing I wanted... But I received everything I needed.“ Ich bat um Gnade... Und er gab mir Gelegenheiten. “Ich bekam nichts was ich wünschte... alles aber alles was ich brauchte

11 Live life without fear, confront all obstacles and know that you can overcome them. Send this message to your friends and show them how much you care. Send it to anybody that you consider a FRIEND, even if this means to send it to the same person that conveyed it to you. If this message returns to you, you can be sure that your circle of friendship is made out of true friends. Lebe ohne Furcht, sieh allen Hindernissen ins Auge in dem Wissen sie überwinden zu können.
