2 Finanzierung UNITAR wird von der Regierung der Schweiz und von einem Netzwerk von Experten aus der ganzen Welt unterstützt für eine Kombination von nationalen und regionalen Nano Aktivitäten sowie für Nano Anlässe an den SAICM Treffen. Die Nano Aktivitäten erfolgen in Zusammenarbeit mit der OECD und dem SAICM Sekretariat. 5 Nano GPA Ziel 1: Arbeitsgebiet Risiko Reduktion 1.Contribute to the development, promotion and adoption of internationally recognized technical guidelines and harmonized standards relating to manufactured nanomaterials. 2.Develop approaches to protect workers, the public and the environment from potential harm related to manufactured nanomaterials 3.Increase the active involvement of the health sector to understand more fully possible short to long term occupational health impacts of manufactured nanomaterials. 5

6 Nano GPA Ziel 2: Arbeitsgebiet Wissen und Information 4. Increase the understanding of the environmental, public and occupational health and safety implications, including risk assessment, of manufactured nanomaterials through coordination, support and/or funding for scientifically sound research. 5.Enhance information and knowledge sharing on manufactured nanomaterials on international, national and regional policy and regulatory initiatives. 6.Highlighting possible synergies with activities undertaken under activity 210 of the Global Plan of Action, explore the development of registers/inventories and/or market assessment activities of manufactured nanomaterials 7.Promote the availability of information on the presence of manufactured nanomaterials within the product supply and use chain and throughout the life cycle, which could include possible labeling, consistent with relevant international obligations, and/or other forms of guidance relating to consumer products containing manufactured nanomaterials. 8.Review the applicability of the GHS criteria for manufactured nanomaterials as well as how information on safe use should be included in MSDS. 6

7 Nano GPA Ziel 3: Arbeitsgebiet Governance 9.Promote the development of country specific approaches incorporating lifecycle thinking to nanomaterials in existing national frameworks, policies, regulatory provisions, best practice guidelines and chemical management programmes. 10.Promote producer responsibility for appropriate providing guidance on safe use of manufactured nanomaterials throughout the supply chain including the waste stage. 11.Promote coordinated international, regional and national policy strategies regarding the opportunities and risks of nanotechnology and manufactured nanomaterials. 7

8 Nano GPA Ziel 4: Arbeitsgebiet capacity-building und technische Zusammenarbeit 12.Promote public and private sectors partnerships for the environmentally sound management of manufactured nanomaterials to assist, in particular, developing countries, small island developing states and countries with economies in transition to build building scientific, technical, and legal capacity. 8

9 Aktuelle Aktivitäten 6. Mai 2016 Nano Workshop in Hanoi (Vietnam), mit Beratung durch NANOTEC Thailand (Thailand als regionaler Hub). 9

10 Zukünftige Aktivitäten von UNITAR Sommer 2016: Ein wichtiges Ergebnis aus den regionalen Workshops 2015 ist die Verbesserung der regionalen Vernetzung und der regionalen Zusammenarbeit zwischen den Nano Beteiligten. Zu diesem Zweck entwirft UNITAR ein elektronisches Clearing House mit den Elementen einer Kontaktdatenbank, einer Dokumentenablage und einem Diskussionsforum. 2017 -2018 Weitere Runde regionaler Nano Workshops. Geplant sind zwei bis vier regionale Workshops, abhängig von zusätzlichen Finanzmitteln. UNITAR hat bereits Mittel von der Schweiz erhalten. 10

11 Zeitplan für den SAICM intersessionellen Prozess Sekretariat hat unabhängige Evaluation von SAICM 2006-2015 veranlasst, um Empfehlungen für SAICM post 2020 abzugeben « Inception Report» an das SAICM Sekretariat20.
