VERBS!

A verb is an action word. In German all verbs must “agree” with their subjects. This means that each verb must have the correct ending on it. ich – e wir – en du – st ihr – t er/sie/es – t sie – en Sie - en

There are some verbs, verbs whose stem ends in t, d and some n’s, that must add and extra “e” before the endings for du, er, sie, es and ihr. arbeiten warten finden ordnen kosten regnen öffnen

With some verbs the ich form is a little different. sammeln

We know are forms of haben and sein Let’s review our songs. Find these verbs in your notes.

Separable Prefix verbs mit an ab auf zu aus vor

A Separable Prefix verb is a verb that has a prefix in front of an action verb. This prefix will change the meaning of the verb. gehen = to go mitgehen = to go with schreiben = to write abschreiben = to copy

A normal sentence is written; subject / verb / other stuff. Ich gehe ins Kino. a sentence with a separable prefix verb is written: subject / action verb / OS / prefix.
