Some German verbs are very strong willed They do not exactly follow the pattern of weak or regular verbs They change with Du and er/sie/es
One of these verbs is essen (to eat) So what happens to the verb essen in the PRESENT TENSE? Lets find out…

Fine, but what if I want to talk about my friend or my sister? No problem. Have a look at this: Mein Freund Mein Bruder Mein Vater = er (he) = ending t Mein Bruder isst Meine Freundin Meine Schwester Meine Mutter = sie (she) = ending t Meine Mutter isst Meine Freundin und ich = wir (we) = ending en Meine Freundin und ich essen Meine Eltern Meine Freunde = sie (they) = ending en e.g. Meine Eltern essen
So what happened to the verb essen in the PRESENT TENSE? The stem ess changed toiss with du (isst) ander/sie/es (isst)
