jeden Tag immer oft meistens normalerweise

Position of adverbs As you probably know already, adverbs love verbs and always stay very close to them.

Lets have a look… Ichesse zum Frühstück Müsli 123 Zum Frühstück esseichMüsli (for breakfast)

Have you noticed anything…? Sentence 2 started with Zum Frühstück In sentence 2 the subject ich and the verb esse swapped places

But why…..? This is because the VERB is always the 2 nd idea in a sentence. An idea can be a word like oft (often) or a few words like Zum Frühstück or even a whole clause like Wenn ich Zeit habe (when I have time)

Now rewrite this sentence starting with morgens Ichesse morgens ein Ei 123 Morgens esseichein Ei (in the mornings)

DeutschEnglisch Kopiere die Adverben in dein Heft! (copy the adverbs into your exercise book) never sometimes normally every day always often mostly nie manchmal normalerweise jeden Tag immer oft meistens ab und zunow and then

Now look and see what happens when you have two adverbs Ichesse zum Frühstück Müsli 123 Zum Frühstück esseich oft Müsli

Have you noticed anything…? Sentence 2 started with Zum Frühstück again In sentence 2 the subject ich and the verb esse swapped places The second adverb oft came after the subject ich

Wirtrinken zum Frühstück Tee And here are some more sentences for you to practice.
