Die Zukunft The future I will

There are two (main) ways of talking about the future! You can simply use the Present Tense, e.g. German: Ich gehe morgen ins Kino English: I am going to the cinema tomorrow or You use the proper Future Tense. Just take the correct form of the verb ‘werden’ and put the infinitive at the end of the sentence. Simple!!!! German: Ich werde morgen ins Kino gehen English: I will go to the cinema tomorrow

Achtung! The German ‘Ich will’ does NOT mean ‘I will’! It means ‘I want to’ – completely different thing altogether!

Time phrases for the Future Tense später in der Zukunft wenn ich älter bin,… morgen nächstes Jahr nächsten Monat nächste Woche mit 20/30 Jahren.. bald im Sommer am Wochenende later in the future when I am older,… tomorrow next year next month next week with 20/30 years (of age) soon in the summer at the week-end

And here are the different forms of the verb ‘werden’ ich werde du wirst Sie werden er/sie/es/man wird wir werden ihr werdet sie werden I will you will he/she/it/one will we will you will (plural) you will (plural/formal) they will

der Konditional The conditional: I would

If you know the future, then the conditional is easy! Follow the rules for the Future Tense. Just change the form of the verb ‘werden’ and put the infinitive at the end of the sentence. Simple!!!! (The conditional always has an Umlaut: “ !) German: Ich würde morgen ins Kino gehen English: I would go to the cinema tomorrow (if I had the time…)

And here are the different forms of the verb ‘werden’ in the conditional CONDITIONAL (WOULD) FUTURE (WILL) ich werde du wirst Sie werden er/sie/es/man wird wir werden ihr werdet sie werden ich würde du würdest Sie würden er/sie/es/man würde wir würden ihr würdet sie würden
