THE HEYLS WERE VERY RELIGIOUS BEING GERMAN REFORMED PETER HEYL WAS AMBITIOUS, MOVING TO AMERICA TO BETTER HIMSELF HE ACQUIRED 800 ACRES OF GOOD LAND IN PRESENT GASTON COUNTY MOST OF HIS LAND WAS KEPT IN THE FAMILY

HE NEVER OWNED THE HOYLE HOUSE LAND THE HOYLE HOUSE IS LOCATED ON THE 1765 LAND GRANT OF JOHN HOYLE THE HOYLE HOUSE WAS BUILT SOMETIME AFTER 1765 EITHER BY JOHN HOYLE OR HIS SON, “RICH” ANDREW HOYL
