• Subject (Ich, du, er/sie/es usw.) Nominativ Sentences Nominative sentences have only: • Subject (Ich, du, er/sie/es usw.) • Verb (sein, heissen) • Information (if any) In short, all subjects are always Nominative subjects.

Examples • Ich heisse Peter. Er ist 24 Jahre alt. Der Mann ist nett. Mein Lehrer ist intelligent. In above examples, yellow highlighted subjects are Nominative subjects and these sentences are called Nominative sentences.

Accusative sentences Accusative sentences are those which have: Subject Verb Direct Object Subects are always Nominative, Verbs are accusative verbs, which represents the action, possession etc. and the Objects are Accusative objects.

EXAMPLES Er hat einen Bleistift. Ich mache meine Hausaufgabe. Peter hat eine Schwester. Ronaldo spielt Schach. Juliana kauft ein neues Auto. In the above examples, Subjects are Nominative, Verbs used are accusative verbs and direct Objects. The above sentences are called Accusative sentences.
