The Verb frag-en (to ask) Regular Verbs Infinitive and present tense Singular Plural ich frag-e du frag-st er/sie/es frag-t German infinitives consist of a verb stem plus the suffix –en or –n All present tense verbs in German have a suffix attached to the verb stem. In the verb fragen, “frag” is the verb stem and “-en” is the suffix in its infinitive form. Notice the rest of the personal pronouns and their suffix endings. wir frag-en ihr frag-t Sie/Sie frag-en
