Technik im Dialog 8 Eight model regions: goals and background Goals: Combine applied R&D and everyday and user- focused e-mobility demonstration. Manufacturers, users, service providers and infrastructure managers as well as local stakeholders are to be included. Background: Electric mobility is to be developed adopting a holistic and integrated approach, with a different focus in each region. Motivated regional stakeholders, different requirements are to be taken into account, creativity of regional initiatives is to be exploited. E-mobility modules and mobility services such as car sharing and other new business (mobility on demand) models to be studied. Urban planning and urban design aspects are to be taken into account.

Conclusions as of today Fuel cell and battery vehicles will shape e-mobility together. New players and business models especially of integrated transport systems necessary and helpful for e-mobility. Battery and vehicle costs will and have to come down over time. Standardisation is important. Low density of public infrastructure probably does not stop usage of BEVs / PHEVs in the nearterm. More results from projects to be collected by plattforms start to evolve at beginning of next year. Vehicles and infrastructure need to be tested over time.
