7 Nobuyoshi Araki Silent Wishes The exhibition shows for the first time a suite of about 100 black/white photographs from the museums collection. The body of work is an intimate und sensible document focussing on Arakis wife Yohko, her homely life, the surroundings in Tokyo and the subtle vision of a loving communication between photographer and model. The show will be enlarged by a set of newer black/white works by Araki that show the world famous media-artist as a poetic story-teller of female worlds and tender eroticism.

Nobuyoshi Araki is one of the most provocative photographers of our time; he has photographed daily and obsessively since the late 1960s. His oeuvre encompasses not only erotic photographs, for which he has won international acclaim, but also photographs of flowers, reportage-style everyday scenes, architectural photographs and personal pictures of himself and his wife Yohko, who died very young. Araki experiences the world through the art of photo- graphy. The exhibition, which features examples from the museums own collection and works on loan, present the sensitive black and white photography of this world-famous photographer. The exhibition will be organized in colla-boration with the Leica Gallery.
