9 exclamation mark / “bitte” / “doch”
for more emphasis you can add an exclamation mark: Kommt herein! to “soften” the command you can add “bitte”: Bitte, machen Sie die Tür zu. Machen Sie die Tür zu, bitte. Machen Sie bitte die Tür zu. for more urgency you can add “doch” Ruf mich doch an.

11 “would you (please) do s.th” “würden Sie (bitte) etwas machen”
POLITE REQUESTS If the command / imperative sounds too strong (or if you are not quite sure how to form it) this form can be used as an alternative. It corresponds quite literally to the English “would you (please) do s.th” “würden Sie (bitte) etwas machen” the only difference being - as usual - that the second verb “do = machen” appears at the end of the German clause.
