Hahn First device with FOT: 2001 (SOMNOsmart) Successor:2004 (SOMNOsmart2) Weinmann has been the first manufacturer, who launched FOT with an APAP device successful. Weinmann´s philosophy: An effective APAP device must be able to distinguish between obstructive and central events, to prevent unnecessary pressure rise. To do not induce central apneas and the device should only apply the therapeutically needed pressure.
