3 © SAP 2009 / Page 3 Background IBM has filed for a trademark for Alloy™ software by IBM and SAP. Alloy is software developed jointly by SAP and IBM. IBM will own the trademark. Alloy enables the connection and sharing of information between collaboration software, IBM Lotus Notes and business process management, and SAP Business Suite.

5 Alloy Naming Usage SPELLING  Alloy should always be written with a capital “A” and lowercase “lloy” in all writing scenarios. ABBREVIATIONS  The Alloy brand name should never be abbreviated, for example, just the letter A.  The endorsement approaches for Alloy should never be abbreviated. 6 General Naming Standards for Alloy™ Software In written material, adhere to the following legal requirements in every instance. In all external documents, use the ™ symbol and the descriptor “software” immediately after “Alloy” in the title, header, and the first mention in body text. Examples: Alloy™ software by IBM and SAP Alloy™ software After using the ™ symbol as specified above, you may omit it and the descriptor “software” and simply refer to Alloy in subsequent mentions in the document. Alloy is by IBM and SAP. Mention this at least once in the document, either upon first mention of the name or soon thereafter. You may mention it again at any time. Always mention IBM first. Example #1: Alloy™ software by IBM and SAP helps you manage employee leave and vacation times. Alloy is available now. For information about Alloy by IBM and SAP, visit our site. Example #2: Alloy™ software helps you manage employee leave and vacation times. Alloy is a jointly developed product from IBM and SAP and is available now. For information about Alloy, visit our site. 7 Proper Usage of IBM Terms Refer only to “IBM,” never to “Lotus,” “IBM Lotus,” or “IBM Lotus Notes,” immediately after the Alloy name. Incorrect: Alloy™ software by Lotus and SAP Alloy™ software by IBM Lotus and SAP Alloy™ software by IBM Lotus Notes and SAP Corrected: Alloy™ software by IBM and SAP You may refer to “IBM Lotus Notes” or “Lotus Notes” when describing the IBM product, as long as it does not immediately follow the Alloy name. Correct: With Alloy™ software by IBM and SAP, business users can access SAP® software and information from within the familiar IBM® Lotus Notes® environment. 8 Alloy Communications from SAP The following Alloy guidelines apply to all SAP created marketing materials. All materials should leverage existing SAP look and feel. The Alloy wordmark should always be positioned at the top of the communications. The SAP corporate logo will be positioned at the bottom of page as endorsement, according the corporate brand guidelines. Alloy wordmark will be used on IBM and SAP materials as the joint branding element. © SAP 2009 / Page 8

9 Alloy Wordmark for Materials and Software The wordmark in all marketing and product materials and product interface and install screens appears on the right. USAGE Guidelines for Use the provided electronic file only. 10 Collateral Guidelines  Alloy wordmark should appear on all collateral promoting the product (possibly including user documentation).  IBM collateral will include IBM logo and Alloy wordmark. 12 Events Lotusphere and other IBM events Alloy wordmark should be used on event signage along with IBM logo. Alloy wordmark should only be used when supporting Alloy product messaging. 13 Direct Marketing  Include Alloy wordmark on any SAP or IBM produced direct marketing product- related campaigns.  Do not use wordmark for any event/invitation type campaigns unless focus is on promoting Alloy at the event.  Corporate logos can be used as endorsements to campaigns.  When using the wordmark, it should appear on the inside of the direct marketing communication.  Wordmark should NOT appear on the outer envelopes as it should not compete with outside messaging on the outer envelopes. © SAP 2009 / Page 13
