7 PARSE.Insight Insight into issues of Permanent Access to the Records of Science in Europe P ermanent A ccess R ecords S cience E urope InsIghtInsIght www.parse-insight.eu Ada Beate Sturm, MPDL, Juli 2008 Wissenschaftliche Primärdaten Ausgangssituation sehr unterschiedliche Dateiformate und -größen verstreut über verschiedene Forschungseinrichtungen vor Ort von den Forschern selbst verwaltet oft fehlen LZA-Strategien Metadaten werden nicht unbedingt langzeitarchiviert starke Unterschiede zwischen Fachdisziplinen fehlende Verlinkung von Primärdaten und Publikationen FAZIT: Häufig sind diese Daten nicht zugänglich und für die Zukunft nicht langfristig gesichert.

Langzeitarchivierung und -verfügbarkeit meint die gesicherte, langfristige Archivierung und Bereitstellung zitierfähiger Daten. Dieser Zugang zu wissenschaft- lichen Primärdaten ist grundlegende Voraussetzung für die Forschung. Projektziel
