1 Youth in Dialogue Heart of Europe
15th to 18th June 2006 Strebersdorf, Vienna Prof. Mag. Marina Grogger The main issue of this meeting is connected with Europe, the European Union,ist member states, problems and challenges we are confronted with. On a strategical level or daily life, which is influenced. Main Issue –Europe, European Union, ist member states. Problems and challenges we are confronted with. I am Prof. Marina Grogger from Salzburg, a capital of a federal countrySalzburg, inhabitants. My job is Teacher In Service Training and I am responsible for Project Management and the funds and programmes of the European Union in education. During this days we want to find out in discussions and dialogs with research and common knowledge about the Union.

2 Turkey This workshop will be connected intensively with a country, with the Republic of Turkey. Turkey was accepted to start negotiations with the European Commission in October 2005. Within this days the accession dialogues should start, as soon as Turkey has confirmed the agreement about free trade with Cyprus. Which means to be open for ships and planes from Cyprus (Greek part). But more research about this will be done in the workshops.

3 Selina Selina was born in 1987 in Sivas in Turkey. She lived in a little village near Sivas with her sister and grandparents. When she was 5 years old, the two sisters were taken with to Austria. Her family, left Turkey in Her brothers were at that time at the age of 7, 5 and 3 years. The two elder brothers went with the parents, Erkan, the youngest stayed in Sivas. Selina: years old. Born in Turkey, living in Austria. 3 brothers (35, 33, 31)

5 Selina The family is living in Vienna in the capital of Austria. There were friends, uncles and cousins and they all supported the girls of the family Özdemir to get familiar with the new situation. She missed her grandmother and her dog but in summer, every year, they went all to Sivas . After a few years she got accustomed to the new surrounding and found friends in school. Her best friend were from Bosnia and they spoke German, Selina spoke fluently and quite often she translated for her mother and her aunt.

7 Selina`s Job Selina attended primary and secondary school in Favoriten in Vienna and was a really good student. When she was 15 years old, she took an apprenticeship as a grafic designer. Mr. Mayer, the owner of the company was very enthusiastic about her talents on designing.

8 Selina`s company „PRclient“
In the year 2005 the company was sold. With the new management the philosophy changed. The mission being created for all: The biggest client complaint about Selina`s outfit. A women dressed with a headscarf does not publish the CI of the company. He is not interested in getting designs from her. Public Relations is clients publicity

9 „Dresscode“ Mr. Ecker, head of department of grafics and design, asked Selina to come to work without being dressed with the headscarf.

10 Selina`s family Selina told her father, that she will loose her job if she does not accept the new dresscode of the Company. Selina spoke with her mother and sister …. She spoke with her best friends….

11 The situation Mr. Ecker said she is going to be fired if she does not agree with the dresscode of the company. you are fired, if you do not accept!

Dieses Recht umfasst die Freiheit, seine Religion oder Weltanschauung zu wechseln, und die Freiheit, seine Religion oder Weltanschauung einzeln oder gemeinsam mit anderen öffentlich oder privat durch Gottesdienst, Unterricht, Bräuche und Riten zu bekennen. (2) Das Recht auf Wehrdienstverweigerung aus Gewissensgründen wird nach den einzelstaatlichen Gesetzen anerkannt, welche die Ausübung dieses Rechts regeln.
