Today: Tomorrow: Verschiedene Zugsicherungssysteme in Europa (links). Ziel ist die Harmonisierung in Europa durch Verwendung eines Zugsicherungssystems. Dies nennt sich ERTMS (European Rail Traffic Management System, das zukünftige System für Management und Steuerung des Eisenbahnverkehrs auf den Strecken der Transeuropäischen Netze (TEN)) wovon ETCS als Zugsicherungssystem ein Bestandteil ist.
