Immer wieder führten Hardwarefehler zu Ausfällen, die die Sachverständigen in ihrer Arbeit behinderten. Mit Operations Manager 2007 lassen sich Lese-Schreib-Fehler der Notebook-Festplatten aus der Ferne feststellen. Das wiederholte Auftreten eines solchen Fehlers liefert Hinweise auf einen möglichen Hardwareausfall. Mitarbeiter des Helpdesks können nach der Diagnose einen Notebook Tauschvornehmen, noch bevor das alte Gerät nicht mehr einsatzfähig ist. So lassen sich jährlich mehr als 200 000 Euro einsparen.
