In English… The personal pronouns are… I me you he him she

In English… her it we us they them

Use Some of these pronouns are used for subjects, others as direct or indirect objects, or objects of prepositions. SUBJECT He is coming. DIRECT OBJECT I see him. INDIRECT OBJECT I give him the book. OBJECT OF A PREPOSITION We’ll go without him.

In German… German personal pronouns are used in the same ways: as subject, direct & indirect objects, and objects of prepositions. Like the definite (der, die, das) and indefinite (ein, eine) articles, personal pronouns have special forms in the various cases. You should already be familiar with the nominative case forms.
