We can also position Ariba Collaborive Finance into non-SAP accounts due to the openness of the Ariba Network. In this chart you see the buyer’s SAP and Ariba systems represented on the right, and suppliers are represented on the left. As you see, we can enable suppliers from every geographic region, of all volume levels and any technical capability. Now, rather than creating point-to-point connections with SAP II, we use the Ariba Network to create a one-to-many connection for the buyer. One connection to the Ariba Network, connecting to thousands of suppliers sending XML, EDI, PO and contract invoices through the supplier portal. Suppliers using the Network can also leverage the broad functionality of Ariba including Discovery, monitor order-to-cash documents and catalogs, monitor predictable receivables, and have control over Dynamic Discounting. Best in class results get customers to 80% electronic. So there is always going to be paper to process. With Ariba, customers now have the option for a fully managed scanning service and on-demand workflow. With SAP Invoice Management – SAP clients have a world-class invoice scanning/OCR process that is integrated directly with the SAP Business Suite. SAP IM helps route non-PO invoices for approval and handles error processing. SAP IM should be positioned in the case where the client has SAP installed and wants an on-premise scanning and workflow solution. If the client is not an SAP shop or they want an on-demand scanning or workflow solution you no longer need to leave money on the table. Those features are included in the Ariba Collaborative Finance bundle.
