SAP POS Connectivity: ERP Outbound SAP Best Practices for Retail (US)

Scenario Overview – 1 Purpose and Benefits: Purpose Benefits SAP POS Connectivity: ERP Outbound is about downloading information from SAP ERP system to the SAP POS system using SAP PI system. Information download includes the PLUs, Mix & Match, Promotions, Categories, Departments, etc. SAP ERP uses IDoc format while SAP POS supports only flat files. The conversion from IDoc format to flat file will be handled by SAP PI. Benefits Enable Distributed Retailing in retail stores with store POS systems linked to the central SAP system Ensure data consistency between SAP system and POS systems by determining which data has changed up to the current date and which data has changed during the configured runtime. Provide current data to the stores by automatically distributes data at specific intervals to the POS systems Enhance processing by formatting data specifically for individual stores, which means each store only receives data that is relevant to that store. Increase performance with the option of using several servers to format data simultaneously.
