Perfect Tense using ‘haben’ Objectives: Must know how to form the perfect tense using ich with both regular and irregular verbs Should be able to talk about someone else in the past tense using both regular / irregular verbs Could work out what’s missing and expand upon info given in the past.

Regular Past Participles Regular past participles begin with ge- and end in –t. gespielt gekauft gehört gewohnt gemacht gearbeitet getanzt geschickt gekostet gearbeitet gefaulenzt gelacht geschmeckt gespart geübt geregnet

Irregular Past Participles Irregular past participles begin with ge- and end in –en. They do not always follow a pattern gegessen gesehen gelesen geschlafen getrunken geschrieben gefunden gewonnen gesungen getragen getroffen gewaschen vergessen verlassen bekommen besucht

Grammar Point Remember your word order when writing in the past! the auxillary verb (1 st verb) goes at the start of the sentence. the past participle (2 nd verb) goes at the end. Ich habe ein Glas Cola getrunken
