Examples Der Deutsche kommt aus Dresden. der Deutsche = masculine, nominative, preceded by definite article The ending on the adjectival noun is “-e” Compare with the sentence: Der deutsche Mann kommt aus Dresden.

Examples Cont. Eine Deutsche unterrichtet den Kurs. Eine Deutsche =feminine, nominative, preceded by indefinite article “eine” Ending on the adjectival noun is consequently “-e” Compare with the sentence: Die deutsche Frau unterrichtet den Kurs.
