before starting each (hazardous) work to be done by yourself: right tool accessable – without lack right PPE available are all work steps cleared do all people involved know what to do etc. etc. ……. Ask these questions before you start: What are the critical points at this work? Which fault can occur? What´s the worst case? What can I (we) do against it?

9 radiation protection Before entering radiation protection areas you need to have two instructions: General Radiation Protection Work place based radiation protection and safety instruction for accellerators at DESY The instruction is to be held by the responsible radiation protection officers of the groups. without instruction no dose rate meter - no access!

10 radiation protection Shielding and grids may not be changed or removed
Changings of any kind need the agreement of the responsible radiation protection officer or the radiation protection group D3!!!
