2 Hallstatt Hallstatt je selo na jugozapadnoj obali Halstattskog jezera u austrijskom kraju Salzkammergutu u Gornjoj Austriji, na državnoj cesti Salzburg-Graz. Selo je najpoznatije po najstarijem rudniku soli po kojemu je nazvana halštatska kultura, a često i cijelo razdoblje starijeg željeznog doba. Hallstatt, zajedno s planinom Dachstein čini kulturni krajolik Salzkammergut koji je godine upisan na UNESCO-v popis mjesta svjetske baštine u Europi. Hallstatt ist ein Dorf mit 795 Einwohnern im Salzkammergut im Bundesland Oberösterreich in Österreich und liegt am Hallstätter See. Zusammen mit dem Dachstein und dem Inneren Salzkammergut gehört es zum UNESCO-Welterbe. Nach Funden in einem ausgedehnten Gräberfeld oberhalb des Ortes wird ein Zeitabschnitt der älteren Eisenzeit als Hallstattzeit bezeichnet. Die Gemeinde liegt im Gerichtsbezirk Bad Ischl. Alexander Scheutz has been mayor of Hallstatt since 2009. Hallstatt is known for its production of salt, dating back to prehistoric times, and gave its name to the Hallstatt culture, a culture often linked to Celtic, Proto-Celtic, and pre-Illyrian peoples in Early Iron Age Europe. Some of the earliest archaeological evidence for the Celts was found in Hallstatt.

4 Usprkos svojoj zabačenosti i nepostojanju puta, Hallstatt je jedno od najstarijih ljudskih naselja u Europi zbog nalazišta soli. Sol se vadila još oko g. pr. Kr., što je dokazano kamenom sjekirom u obliku cipele kojom se kopalo. U Hallsttatu je od 8. stoljeća pr. Kr. do oko 450. g. pr. Kr. pokopano oko 4000 pokojnika, a rudarsko je naselje imalo stalnu populaciju od oko 200 stanovnika. Sol je oduvijek bila vrijedna potrepštinom, te je ovaj kraj zbog rudnika soli bio oduvijek bogat. Najbolji dokaz tomu je željezni mač pronađen u grobu br koji je imao ručku izrezbarenu od afričke slonovače ukrašenu jantarom s Baltika. Danas se može posjetiti ovaj najstariji rudnik soli na svijetu čiji ulaz se nalazi ispod samog sela Hallstatta. Allerdings wurden solche Steingeräte als Donnerkeil im Mittelalter und der Neuzeit auch weit verhandelt entdeckte Johann Georg Ramsauer ein Gräberfeld hoch oben am Salzberg. Auch eine der ersten Eisenschmieden wurde hier ausgegraben. Reger Handel und der damit einhergehende Wohlstand ermöglichten die Entwicklung einer hohen Kultur, die nach den Funden im Salzberghochtal Hallstattkultur benannt wurde und von etwa 800 bis 400 v. Chr. währte und den Namen des Ortes auf der ganzen Welt bekannt machte. Until the late 19th century, it was only possible to reach Hallstatt by boat or via narrow trails. The land between the lake and mountains was sparse, and the town itself exhausted every free patch of it. Access between houses on the river bank was by boat or over the upper path, a small corridor passing through attics. The first road to Hallstatt was only built in 1890, along the west shore, partially by rock blasting. However this secluded and inhospitable landscape nevertheless counts as one of the first places of human settlement because of the rich sources of natural salt, which have been mined for thousands of years, originally in the shape of hearts owing to the use of an antler pick. Some of Hallstatt's oldest archaeological finds, such as a shoe-last celt, date back to around 5500 BC. In 1846 Johann Georg Ramsauer discovered a large prehistoric cemetery close by the current location of Hallstatt.

On se nalazi u južnom dijelu Gornje Austrije, na rijeci Traun u središtu regiji Salzkammergut.Grad se sastoji od Katastralgemeinden Ahorna, Bad Ischla, Haidena, Jainzesa, Kaltenbacha, Lauffena, Lindasua, Pfandla, Pernecka, Reiterndorf ai Rettenbacha. Spojen je sa selom Strobl sa strane rijeke Ischl, koja odvodi od Wolfgangsee, a na Traunsee, u kojoj je potok prazni. Bad Ischl is a spa town in Austria. It lies in the southern part of Upper Austria, at the Traun River in the centre of the Salzkammergut region. The town consists of the Katastralgemeinden Ahorn, Bad Ischl, Haiden, Jainzen, Kaltenbach, Lauffen, Lindau, Pfandl, Perneck, Reiterndorf and Rettenbach. It is connected to the village of Strobl by the river Ischl, which drains from the Wolfgangsee, and to the Traunsee, into which the stream empties. Bad Ischl ist ein Kurort in Österreich. Es liegt im südlichen Teil von Ober Österreich, an der Traun im Zentrum des Salzkammergutes. Die Stadt besteht aus den Katastralgemeinden Ahorn, Bad Ischl, Haiden, Jainzen, Kaltenbach, Lauffen, Lindau, Pfandl, Perneck, Reitern und Rettenbach.
