4 Operative Geschäftsprozesse - Herausforderungen
Fehlende Transparenz über den End-to-End- Prozess Fehlendes “Big Picture” Performance Probleme / Versteckte Prozess Engpässe Verarbeiten von Ausnahmen oder unvorhersehbarer Ergebnisse Mangel an Transparenz und fehlende Compliance Fehlende zeitnahe und verwertbare Informationen Operative Entscheidung basieren auf Veralteten Informationen Unvollständigen Information Krisenmanagement – immer im reaktiven Modus Management today lacks reliable, end-to-end information concerning business operations, transactions and situational visibility. Getting end-to-end visibility into today's distributed, interconnected applications is difficult. Business operations and activities execute across heterogeneous systems often spanning different locations and owned and managed by different groups. This results in a very fragmented perspective, it's hard to get a "big picture" of what's happening, or not happening, in the runtime environment. Businesses need E2E process visibility to ensure operations are running smoothly, Critical business transactions must process quickly and efficiently and meet service-level agreements (SLAs) for the operational health of the company. Lack of real-time intelligence into the business operations and activities across systems and organizational silos Governance is a challenge without an end-to-end view of business processes no direct link between KPIs and end-to-end processes Difficulty in proactively addressing process problems in a timely fashion Example: When a customer complains about delays in service, employees scramble trying to hunt down the status of the customer request. The lack of end-to-end process visibility makes this task extremely difficult and time-consuming, causing further frustration for the customer

7 Today’s environment brings a high level of complexity How do you keep tabs on your mission critical processes? How do you track performance of key business (operations) processes? How do you find out when things go wrong? Sales Operations Business Partner Finance Are you able to identify trends, forecast events, and adapt quickly? Can you detect and respond rapidly to threats and opportunities? Key Point - In today’s rapidly changing global economy, a critical issue facing every organization is the freshness of their business data. Knowing about your business sooner, rather than later, provides a competitive edge and enables you to better manage through unexpected situations Business need to react more quickly and more appropriately to individual events, complex combinations of events, and changes to the business environment to make faster and better decisions. Why – Competitive advantage. IDC states …. that over the past decade, enterprises worldwide have spent more than $1 trillion building and managing systems to automate core business processes. They have spent close to that amount outsourcing processes as well as building extensive value chains. The result of these developments is added complexity. No single process, application, system, or company controls all of the activities that support key business processes. …. On top of complexity where no one really has full visibility into or control of a process, systems built over this time period have been based on the core assumption that the only problems an application might encounter are slow response times or a system outage. Passively waiting until a service-level agreement (SLA) is missed or customers complain via word of mouth or a call to a call center is a very expensive way to address a problem and is a drain on profitability. Over the past few years, enterprises have begun investing in software that creates real-time intelligence regarding their operations. Whether they called these initiatives intelligence, monitoring, or visibility, organizations began to realize they needed to become more situationally aware Situational awareness means knowing what is going on so you can decide what to do. Is your organization operationally responsive? Management today lacks reliable, end-to-end information concerning business operations, transactions and situational awareness. As SAP customers increasingly will adopt the SAP Process Orchestration solution, the need for fully--‐fledged visibility in business processes, whether embedded in the Business Suite applications, enhanced with Process Orchestration will grow exponentially to manage the (unavoidable) complexity of the underlying heterogeneous process architectures.

8 Intelligent business operations Infusing intelligence into end-to-end processes
Gain competitive advantage Quickly adapt to changing business dynamics Turn big “process” data into actionable information Leverage process-aware analytics Lead the transformation of your business Be proactive instead of crisis management Accelerate and optimize operational decisions making Business managers and knowledge workers today face a key challenge: They are being asked to make faster and better decisions and to "do more with less" in an ever-changing business context, but cannot do so without improved visibility into their operations and environments. To meet this challenge, leading organizations are seeking to make their business operations more intelligent by integrating analytics into their processes and the applications that enable them. Gartner has identified this trend as a new usage scenario for a business process management suite (BPMS) — a scenario that Gartner calls "intelligent business operations" To meet the needs for IBO, a BPMS must be enhanced with new capabilities. Accordingly, Gartner has evolved its definition of the business process management (BPM) market to reflect the IBO usage scenario and to introduce the next generation of BPMSs, which we identify as intelligent business process management suites (iBPMSs). It is no longer enough to cut costs, you must use processes to generate revenue or innovation. With business operating today globally and at a 7x24 pace, it is all too easy to miss opportunities and to fail to know when to take action to reduce costs. Realizing the full potential of a business requires being able to act when relevant information mandates it – and being sure that that information will present itself. Thus, the pressure to remain competitive and grow the business in challenging times translates into a mandate to explore investing in technology that can support Operational Intelligence. Ventana Research “ Optimize Processes and Reduce Costs with Operational Intelligence” 2012 “By 2016, 70% of the most profitable companies will manage their processes using real-time predictive analytics or extreme collaboration.” Gartner Predicts 2013

Outlet Store Besitzer Schlechte Datenqualität der Artikel Filiale Bern Outlet Store Besitzer Buyers often struggle to determine how much they should procure to ensure an optimal inventory in the sales outlets. The process today to determine the demand is often characterized by ing spreadsheets back and forth which have to be manually consolidated. On this slide we present Ketchup as an example, but in fact Buyers have to replenish inventory for 1000s of products while keeping in mind the varying demands due to seasonal variations and promotional activities.
